Virtual Design Construction (BIM)

Neal Electric has been using, Revit, for years.  This design platform provides better collaboration and flexibility during the design process, while incorporating some of the detail needed for fabrication. This platform makes sharing and transferring of information more streamlined, which will create cost certainty earlier in the process.

Providing accessibility of the model to all team members through the cloud enables the model and project details to be accessed anywhere by any device. All of Neal’s superintendents have tablets to access the model as well as internet connected mobile job (Tech) boxes with desktop computers, Navis for viewing the model, and printers for model image sharing.

Virtual design or VDC also allows us to incorporate the use of our Trimble Total Station, decreasing time needed for layout and increasing field productivity and accuracy of installations. We can accurately layout all deep underground, duct locations, overhead conduit and cable tray racks as well as wall device rough in. Using this method of layout, allows us to provide complete and accurate as-built drawings while also providing feedback from the field, ensuring everything is being installed according to the model.
