When the House of Hospitality was built in 1915, it was intended to last just 18 months for the San Diego Panama-California International Exposition. It was built with no foundations, decorations were fixed to the walls with hemp, and the lighting fixtures were made out of cardboard painted to look like wrought iron. Still standing more than 80 years later, the House of Hospitality underwent a complete historic reconstruction to become a permanent landmark, with Neal Electric completing exterior and interior electrical construction to stringent guide-lines of the National Historical Register.
