Gateway 2000’s 62,000 square-foot corporate headquarters building, which would typically require nearly eight months to complete, was ready for occupancy in less than three. Coordination was key: Neal worked closely with the electrical engineer to refine the design, thus meeting Gateway 2000’s specific needs and exacting standards while maintaining the aggressive schedule. We also coordinated our work with three separate architects to assure that the fit and finish exceeded the entire design and construction team’s expectations. The installation of several custom-designed details, such as the building lobby’s suspended stainless steel neon fixtures, added to the project’s challenges. The success of this project led to Neal’s being asked back to provide electrical services for two additional Gateway 2000 office facilities, totaling 120,000 square feet, adjacent to the corporate headquarters building in Eastgate R&D Technology Park.
